Stay Warm and Reduce Bills This Winter with These Heating Season Tips
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), nearly half of the money spent on energy each year by an average family goes to heating and cooling the home.  Try these tips to stay warm and cozy, while reducing energy bills at the same time:
  • Reverse your ceiling fan.  When looking up at your fan, the blades should turn clockwise during winter months.  This will help push warm air down, forcing it to recirculate.
  • Check your filter monthly and replace as needed.  Dirty filters impede air flow, reduce efficiency and can even lead to system failures in some cases.
  • Invest in a programmable thermostat to keep your home warm while you're there and cooler while you're away.  The EPA estimates savings at $100 per year.  Contact us to learn more.

Visit the EPA's website for more energy-saving tips.
